Trinity Episcopal Church, Flushing MI

Trinity's "Outreach" is an active group reaching out to help how ever and whom ever we can. This year we have given scholarships to the Episcopal summer camp and the Girl Scout day camp. We also gave a scholarship to a Mott Community College student. We have given gift cards to the Hurley Oncology Unit three times in the past year to help patients with prescriptions, bus passes, gasoline or food (whatever they need ).  
We are helping other churches in the area with the programs they support such as "Bread for Life" where children who qualify for free food at school are sent home with food for the weekend. Many children have stated they wouldn't have anything to eat with out this food. We supply paper goods and kitchen supplies to St. Andrews and St. Paul's who serve meals to the homeless and jobless from their church kitchens. We also help Christ Enrichment Center with various needs. The church adopts families from CEC for Christmas and the Trinity kids have made 50 Easter baskets for the children several years now. Outreach picked some toddlers and senior citizens from the Salvation Army Giving Tree and families from the local schools for Christmas . We also donated several coats, hats, and mittens for children in need from Flushing.

We have been called upon to help a high school student in need, a family with no food and a diabetic mother.

We try to help close to home as Genesee County has so many people in need. Trinity is very supportive of the Outreach Commission and it is something everyone can be proud of. We are always interested in new ideas.
